Beret and ranks of the former Chief of General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces
Lieutenant General Dan Halutz was the first non-Army Chief of the IDF general staff. He was the first Air Force general and pilot to serve as the CIC of the IDF. Therefore a new silvered IDF emblem and new ranks of an AF Lt. General were made for him. On daily basis he wears the AF visor hat with a silvered IDF emblem. While in field and on operations the gray AF beret with the IDF silvered emblem is under his eppaulets.This is a unique opportunity to purchase those rare items. Dan Halutz resigned in January 2007 as consequences of the 2nd Lebanon War. It seems that it will take some decades until the IDF will have a "non Army" commander again.
