About the Israel Security Prize Award
The Eliahu Golomb Israel Security Prize is awarded annually to individuals or organizations for activities that contributed to the security of the State of Israel. The prize was awarded first in 1958 and is given usually for an outstanding technological achievement. The prize is awarded by the President of Israel close to Independence Day.
The names of most of the recipients are kept secret, as are the details of the activity that earned them the prize (sometimes the details are published years later). By 2017, 178 projects had been awarded, about 1,000 people, 14 of them for lifetime achievements. 52 people won the prize twice. 7 people have won more than twice.
