The Sig Sauer P220 Swiss Army Special Edition recoil spring system works due to its multi spring rod design (three springs) by producing an advanced recoil reduction technique by gradually slowing the slide down before impacting the frame of the pistol using Spring No. 1 (see fig. below) and Spring No. 2. The third spring (Spring No. 3) which is contained within the rod itself controls the movement of the slide so it never rams on the frame.

The spring plug must always be installed when the DPM Recoil Rod and springs are used.

This system works due to the multi spring intricate rod (3 springs) and controls the functionality of the gun. The third spring which is contained within the rod controls the movement of the slide so it never rams on the frame. Also included with the system are 2 separate external springs so the shooter can fine-tune the weapon for his/hers personal standards. The longer spring (more coils) is stronger and has a heavier pound rating than the shorter spring.

The system includes also 2 different spring plugs. The spring plug with the marked groove is offering a heavier buffer effect and the spring plug with flat surface offers a lighter buffer effect (slide full open position).

The spring plug must always be installed when the DPM Recoil Rod and springs are used.
