About the Walther PDP 4.5″ & 5″ 18 Settings (not compatible for 4″ & threaded barrel) by DPM Systems:
The Walther PDP 4.5″ & 5″ 18 Settings by DPM Systems replaces the original factory guide rod/spring system and produces an advanced recoil reduction by absorbing the shock gradually and slowing the slide down before its impact with the frame of the pistol. Because the system is an interior modification of your pistol it will not change the external dimensions of the handgun, therefore there is no for a new holster, sights or any other accessory you own.
This Mechanical Recoil Reduction System is a direct replacement for the stock recoil rod and does not change the configuration of the pistol. As always, DPM products are designed and developed with user’s safety as a priority. Exceptional manufacturing and engineering using high-end materials.
Will Fit: Walther PDP 4.5″ & 5″ 18 Settings (not compatible for 4″ & threaded barrel)
Walther PDP 4.5″ & 5″ 18 Settings
The Walther PDP 4.5″ & 5″ 18 Settings recoil spring system works due to its multi spring rod design (three springs) by producing an advanced recoil reduction technique by gradually slowing the slide down before impacting the frame of the pistol using Spring No. 1 (see fig. below) and Spring No. 2. The third spring (Spring No. 3) which is contained within the rod itself controls the movement of the slide so it never rams on the frame.
The spring plug must always be installed when the DPM Recoil Rod and springs are used.
DPM MRS for Walther PDP 4.5″ & 5″ 18 settings
This DPM System works with 6 different buffer recoil springs which each one offers different spring force (forces are listed at the end of the description).
The System includes 3 external springs, 6 buffer recoil springs and 1 safety pin.
The longer spring (more coils) is stronger and has a heavier pound rating than the shorter spring.
Forces:
Soft 0.7mm
Short = 8.0 kg/ 17 lbs
Medium = 9 kg/ 20 lbs
Long = 10 kg/ 22 lbs
Hard 0.8mm
Short = 9.0 kg/ 20 lbs
Medium = 10.5 kg/ 23 lbs
Long = 11.5 kg/ 26 lbs
Suggestion: For low power (very soft ammunition) its not essential to use any of the Buffer Springs.
In that case the System in full open position offers 7 kgs/ 15 lbs total force.
Feel free to try any possible combination of the external and buffer springs to fine tune the pistol function depending the power of the ammunition is used and according to your personal standards.
