This the slogan and the insignia of the most veteran and well known special forces unit of the IDF, the Naval Commando. Established in 1949 under the name “Shayetet 13” (Flotila 13). The training of the Naval Commando recruits lasts 20 months, and is considered one of the toughest courses in the IDF. The unit is one of the most secret units of the IDF. The details of many missions and identities of active operatives are kept highly classified. The unit is known as among the best of the world’s commando units and is compared to the USN Seals and Britain’s SBS.  Israeli Naval Commando specializes in sea-to-land incursions, counter terrorism, sabotage, maritime intelligence gathering and boarding enemy or seized sea vessels.
